One more time I visit this particular composition. I wanted a black and white painting in the portfolio of variations. I love the formality of black and white. I'm highly drawn to black and white paintings. I love the stark richness they provide.
To me, black speaks of wealth and strength. For maybe fifteen years I wore all black every single day. I was never tired of it. I liked how it had a sort of stabilizing feeling. To me, this painting speaks of coming forward out of the dark and letting the light shine.
